Tim Wu, Zephyr Teachout, Slade Bond, others discuss bill’s constitutional foundation
On Monday, April 28, Americans for Responsible Innovation (ARI) will host a virtual press conference on the TAKE IT DOWN Act with top legal experts including Tim Wu, Professor Zephyr Teachout, and former DOJ official Slade Bond.
Together, these legal experts will share their perspectives on the constitutionality of the TAKE IT DOWN Act, the bill’s impact on speech and non-consensual intimate imagery, and enforcement. Press conference participants will answer questions from attendees as the bill moves towards an imminent vote in the House of Representatives.

House leadership has announced the TAKE IT DOWN Act will receive a vote under suspension of the rules on Monday, April 28. The legislation has already passed the Senate, and has received the endorsements of First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump.
In March, ARI helped to lead a coalition letter with over a dozen public interest advocacy organizations supporting the TAKE IT DOWN Act. ARI has also gathered thousands of supporter petitions urging Congress to pass the bill.
