ARI points to Musk’s background as an advocate for responsible innovation
On Monday, Americans for Responsible Innovation (ARI) launched a new campaign urging President-elect Donald Trump to appoint Elon Musk as Special Advisor to the President on AI, a new position from which Musk could shape federal strategy on artificial intelligence. In an accompanying blog post, ARI described Musk’s thinking on AI policy and what role he could play in the incoming Trump Administration. In support of the campaign, ARI has launched a petition effort gathering signatures advocating for Musk’s appointment as Special Advisor on AI.
“There’s no one better positioned to help the Trump Administration navigate this new technology,” said ARI Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Satya Thallam. “This is someone who has both pioneered AI advancement and consistently sounded the alarm about AI’s potential risks. Musk knows what it’s going to take to make America lead on safe AI.”
