Tech startup founders speak out in a new coalition letter

On Thursday, a new coalition of innovators and tech startup founders called on the Trump Administration to support US leadership on AI standards, resources for AI research and innovation, and the integration of tech talent into the federal government. The letter from the AI Innovators Alliance supports federal AI programs including the work of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the AI Safety Institute (AISI), and the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR).

“As a startup founder, I’ve experienced first-hand how government can both stifle and foster innovation,” said ARI Executive Director Eric Gastfriend. “Programs like AISI and NAIRR are squarely on the pro-innovation side. They help the startup ecosystem by advancing basic research, promoting open science, partnering with startups, and setting standards. To lead the world on AI, this administration is going to not only engage with the founder community but also help build the infrastructure and informational environment that will allow them to thrive.”

The AI Innovators Alliance letter includes over 20 tech entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs from companies including AE Studio, Amotions AI, BABL AI, Bookstime, Civic Champs, Clearfind, Digica, DynamiCare Health, Early Light Ventures, hyka.io, Leela AI, Meru Health, PBC, Quantified.ai, RADLogics Inc., Sam.ai, Schema Design, Spect, and Trustible.
